PITTSFORD, NY -- The RIT women's swimming and diving team (4-8) fell to Nazareth College on Saturday afternoon, 187-85. The Tigers won three individual and one relay event.
Freshman
Jocelyn Bade (Gananda, NY/Gananda) took first in the 800-yard freestyle with a time of 10:20.56 while sophomore
Jenna Hoffman (Rochester, NY/Greece Athena) garnered first place in the 100-yard backstroke (1:12.73).
Katie Baldwin (Phelps, NY/Midlakes) finished second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 28.49 seconds.
Courtney Schwarting (Burnt Hills, NY/Burnt Hills Ballston Lake ) had a strong second-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle (4:56.61).
Baldwin, Schwarting,
Melissa Harrison (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley), and
Brittany Schlunt (Santa Cruz, CA/Harbor) won the 200-yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:58.22.
The 200-yard medley relay team of Hoffman, Baldwin,
Taylor Whalen (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca), and
Molly Woods (Avon, CT/Avon) finished second in 2:12.72.
The Tigers will compete next at the Empire 8 Championships which begin on February 24 in Webster, New York at the Webster Aquatic Center.
