Women's basketball loses at Stevens

HOBOKEN, NJ -- The RIT women's basketball team scored just 10 points in the first half, rallied with 42 points in the second half but came up short losing to Stevens (17-5, 10-3 E8) 65-52 in Empire 8 action on Saturday. The loss drops RIT to 5-17 overall and 3-10 in the Empire 8.

The first half did not go as planned for the Tigers, shooting just 3-of-23 from the floor and scoring 10 points trailing 29-10 at the half.

RIT shot much better in the second half, going 14-of-32 from the floor including seven from three point land outscoring the Ducks 42-36.

Freshman center #Courtney Tennant (Cortland, NY/Cortland)# scored all 15 of her points in the second half. She was 5-of-9 from the floor and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Tigers.

Freshman #Jess Kramer (Fayetteville, NY/Jamesville-Dewitt)# scored a career high 17 points and dished out six assists. Kramer made four field goals in the second half and was 5-of-6 from the foul line for the game.

Junior captain #Anne Wapshare (Blasdell, NY/Immaculata Academy)# added eight points and had five rebounds.

RIT returns to action on Tuesday, February 15 at Ithaca College. Tip-off at Ben Light Gymnasium is at 6 pm.
