STORRS, CT -
The RIT men's hockey team (5-5-2, 4-3-2 AHA) had its five-game unbeaten streak against Atlantic Hockey Association foes snapped in a 3-2 loss to Connecticut (5-7-2, 4-4-1 AHA) in front of 747 fans at Freitas Ice Arena on Friday evening.

Cole Schneider dished out three assists, as the Huskies snapped a five-game losing streak against RIT with the win.  RIT is 17-7-1 all-time against Connecticut, and 12-5-1 since 2007, but are just 2-4-1 all-time at Freitas Ice Forum.

With the game tied at 1-1 entering the third period, Connecticut got a power-play goal from Brant Harris just 31 seconds into the frame.  The Huskies tacked on what proved to be the game-winning goal from Tom Janosz at the 8:31 mark.

Cameron Burt (Detroit, MI/) tallied his fourth goal of the season off assists from Mike Colavecchia (Maple, Ontario/Lindsay Muskies) and Greg Noyes (Lucan, Ontario/Salmon Arm Silverbacks) with 6:06 left in regulation to cut the Huskies lead to 3-2.

RIT applied the pressure in the final minutes, peppering the Connecticut net, but could not get the tying goal.

Burt and Ben Lynch (Blaine, MN/Lincoln Stars) scored for the Tigers, who are now 0-3-0 on the road this season, all against AHA opponents.  Brad McGowan (Langley, British Columbia/Surrey Eagles) also added an assist.

It was RIT's first road game in five weeks.  RIT was 1-for-7 with the man-advantage, while Connecticut was 1-for-6.

Garrett Bartus earned the win in net for the Huskies, stopped 29 shots.  Shane Madolora (Salinas, CA/) stopped 28 shots to fall to 4-2-1 on the season for RIT.

RIT opened the scoring 11:46 into the game, as Lynch converted on a feed from McGowan, on the power-play to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead.  Connecticut tied the game just 1:47 later, as Jordan Sims took a feed from Schneider, getting the puck past Madolora.

The two teams conclude their regular season series Saturday night at 7:05 p.m.
