ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT men's hockey team will host the Army Black Nights in a pair of exciting Atlantic Hockey Association contests at Ritter Arena on Friday, November 4 and Saturday, November 5, with both games starting at 7:05 p.m.
Park Point will sponsor Friday night's game, while Salvatore's Pizzeria is the sponsor for Saturday's game.
RIT will look to get back in the win column after falling at Mercyhurst, 2-1 last Friday. The Tigers fired a season-high 50 shots on goal.
Nolan Descoteaux (Dallas, TX/South Shore Kings) scored RIT's goal and has tallies in two of his last three games. Starting this weekend, RIT will play the entire month of November, six games, at Ritter Arena.
Army enters this weekend looking for its first win of the season. The Black Knights were scheduled to play last Saturday against Connecticut, but the game was postponed due to the snow storm that pounded the East Coast. That game will be made up on Feb. 7. On Oct. 22, the Black Knights played nationally-ranked Colgate to a 2-2 tie. Army led 2-0, but Colgate scored two third period goals to earn the tie. Mike Henderson had a goal and an assist, while Ryan Leets made 31 saves for Army.
Tickets are available for Friday and Saturday's games at the Gordon Field House and Activities Center Box Office or by phone at (585) 475-4121. Fans can also purchase tickets via ticketmaster.com. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for RIT faculty, staff and alumni and $5 for students with ID. Fans can also buy special reserved seats in Section 100 or 101 for $13 (adults), $11 (faculty/staff/alumni) or $8 (students). Buying a reserved section ticket will guarantee you a seat for the game.
RIT is 8-2-4 all-time against Army and have a nine-game unbeaten streak against the Black Knights, dating back to Nov. 15, 2008. Last season, the Tigers went 1-0-1 against Army, tying 1-1 and winning 5-2.
Friday and Saturday's games will be aired live on Time Warner Cable Sports channel 26 or 1026 for high definition subscribers, with Gene Battaglia and John Ditullio bringing you the action. In addition, the game will be broadcast over the airwaves on WITR 89.7 FM and witr.rit.edu. There will also be
live stats.
