Jim Lodes picks up 200th career win at RIT, as volleyball rolls to wins over Medaille and Baptist Bible

Lodes is 201-88 in seven seasons at RIT; becomes the second coach to reach that milestone

Head Coach Jim Lodes won his 200th career match at RIT, as the women's volleyball (9-12) squad rolled to wins over Medaille and Baptist Bible at the Purple and Gold Invitational, hosted by Nazareth on Saturday.  RIT has now won four of its last five matches.   In addition, Christina Worth (Valencia, CA/Valencia) was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Lodes, who coached at RIT from 1991-95 then returned in 2010, is 201-88 in seven seasons.  Lodes has 318 overall coaching wins as a head coach in 17 seasons.  He becomes the second RIT volleyball coach to reach 200 wins, joining Roger Worsley, who coached at RIT from 2001-09.

RIT won the first match of the day over Medaille, 25-18, 25-18, 11-25, 25-13.  Junior Rebecca Moore (San Diego, CA/Rancho Bernardo) slammed a match-high 14 kills, while hitting .357.  Christina Worth (Valencia, CA/Valencia) dished out 32 assists, while adding a pair of blocks.  Kyra Wilson-Houck (Painted Post, NY/Corning West) added 10 kills, while Cat Sullivan (Lehman, PA/Lake-Lehman) hit .667 with six kills in the middle.

Libero Bethany Davis (Blasdell, NY/Frontier) led the squad with 13 digs, while fellow defensive stalwarts Lauren Kraft (Lockport, NY/Holy Angels Academy) and Audrey DiPoala (Victor, NY/Victor) added eight, and seven, respectively.  Kraft also led the squad with five service aces, while Kristin Parish (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) added four.

The Tigers rolled to a 25-18, 25-10, 25-15 win over Baptist Bible in the second match of the day.  Moore slammed 12 kills, while Worth added 20 assists and nine digs.  Davis and Cooper led the way with 12 digs, while  Parish and Amanda White (Watertown, NY/Watertown) both had five blocks.

Yesterday, RIT defeated SUNY Geneseo and lost to Wisconsin-Oshkosh in day one action at the Purple and Gold Invitational.

RIT returns to action on Wednesday with a home match against SUNY Geneseo that gets underway at 7 p.m.
