Women's swimming loses to University of Rochester

ROCHESTER, NY --
The RIT women's swimming and diving team (4-7) was defeated by the University of Rochester, 197-84 this afternoon at the Judson Pool.

Sophomore Jenna Hoffman (Rochester, NY/Greece Athena) picked up a win in the 200-yard individual medley in 2:28.99. Hoffman finished first in the 100-yard backstroke and 200-yard backstroke with times on 1:03.71 and 2:2.84, respectively.

Molly Woods (Avon, CT/Avon) garnered first place in the 100-yard butterfly with a solid time of 1:04.14. Taylor Whalen (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca) was a close second in 1:08.75.

The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Brittany Schlunt (Santa Cruz, CA/Harbor), Melissa Harrison (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley), Courtney Schwarting (Burnt Hills, NY/Burnt Hills Ballston Lake ), and Katie Baldwin (Phelps, NY/Midlakes) finished first in 1:45.72.

The Tigers are back in action on Saturday, February 5 against Nazareth College. The meet gets underway at 1 p.m. in Pittsford, New York.
