ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT women's swimming and diving team defeated William Smith, 126-110, tonight at Judson Pool. The Tigers placed first in eight events to pick up their fourth win of the season.
The 4x400-yard freestyle team of
Jenna Hoffman (Rochester, NY/Greece Athena),
Taylor Whalen (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca),
Molly Woods (Avon, CT/Avon), and
Sara Kucsan (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan ) won the first event with a time of 4:20.90.
Courtney Schwarting (Burnt Hills, NY/Burnt Hills Ballston Lake ) finished the 200-yard freestyle in 2:02.65 for first place. She also placed first in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:34.83.
Jocelyn Bade (Gananda, NY/Gananda) swam the 500-yard freestyle in 5:41.43 for second place.
Kate Baldwin finished the 100-yard freestyle in 55.99 for the top spot. Baldwin also won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.13.
Taylor Whalen (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca) finished a close third in 26.76.
Melissa Harrison (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley) dominated the 200-yard IM in 2:23.80 for first place.
Jenna Hoffman (Rochester, NY/Greece Athena) grabbed first place in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:21.92
Diving for the Tigers off the 1-meter was
Laura Garland (Penfield, NY/Webster Schroeder), who outscored three Herons with 164.10 points for first place. This was Garland's first career win.
The Tigers return to action next Saturday at the University of Rochester. The meet is set to commence at 1 p.m.
