FREDONIA, NY -- The RIT women's lacrosse team defeated SUNY Fredonia 11-10 in double overtime in non-conference action on Tuesday afternoon. Senior #
Ashley Pezze (Guilderland, NY/Guilderland)# scored the game winner at 70:27 in sudden death helping the Tigers to improve to 4-1 on the season.

Danielle Previ (Medford, NJ/Shawnee)# forced overtime with her second goal of the game with 1:45 remaining in regulation. She scored on an unassisted goal to tie the score at 9-9. Fredonia had scored two straight goals to take a one-goal prior to Previ's tally.
Each team scored in the first overtime.
Shelby Vakiener (Fairport, NY/Fairport) gave RIT a 10-9 lead at 4:27 of the overtime. Laura Colhane tied the game at 10-10 twenty-two seconds later.
Pezze scored the game-winner with an unassisted goal at 4:27 of the second overtime to give RIT their fourth win of the season and second straight.
Shots were equal at 29 apiece. The Blue Devils won the ground ball battle 19-12. The Tigers committed just 12 turnovers for the game.

Shelby Vakiener (Fairport, NY/Fairport) led RIT with three goals. She also picked up two draw controls. Seniors (Palmyra, NY/Palmyra-Macedon)Eileen Hennigan (Liverpool, NY/Christian Brothers Academy) and Allyson Pischer# each had two goals for RIT. Hennigan also added an assist. Freshman
Katelyn Crane (Palmyra, NY/Palmyra-Macedon) made 11 saves to pick up her third win of the season.
The Tigers will host SUNY Geneseo on Thursday, March 25 at 4 pm on RIT's Turf Field.
