ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT women's basketball team defeated Elmira College 72-57 in Empire 8 action on Friday night.
RIT led by as many as 14 points in the first half and never trailed, opening the game up with a 16-4 run early in the half. The Tigers shot 42.5% from the floor in the first half on 14-of-31 shooting.

Tennant made it a 20 point lead for RIT with her layup at the 12:40 mark of the second half. She finished with a game-high 28 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
Havens finished with 17 points, five rebounds and two assists for the Tigers who win their first Empire 8 conference game of the season and second straight game overall.
The Tigers shot 43.9% from the floor on 25-of-57 shooting. RIT held a 72-57 rebounding edge and scored 18 points in the paint.
The Tigers are off until Tuesday, December 14 when they face Roberts Wesleyan College in Chili, New York.
