PITTSFORD, NY -
The RIT men's soccer team had its 2010 season ended by Empire 8 rival Nazareth (9-6-2, 6-1-0 E8), 2-1 on Saturday afternoon.  The Tigers finish the season with an 8-6-3 record and were 2-3-2 in conference play.  RIT needed to win and have Utica lose to Stevens to qualify for the Empire 8 Tournament.

RIT took the early lead in the 14th minute, when senior Dom Colaprete (Spencerport, NY/Spencerport) converted for his team-leading fifth goal of the season.

Nazareth countered with 6:01 left in the first half when Raymond Touchstone scored when he headed in a shot directly off a throw-in from junior Sean Dorman.

The score remained unchanged until the 83rd minute when Touchstone delivered a long through pass up the center of the field to freshman Luke Elston, who completed the play by scoring his fourth goal of the season.

RIT had several chances late to tie the score, but Nazareth proved resilient as junior goalie Kyle Connolly made eight saves.  Freshman keeper Sean Conway (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) made six saves for RIT.

The Tigers out-shot Nazareth, 16-14.  RIT had five corner kicks to Nazareth's four.
