Women's swimming and diving loses to LeMoyne

ROCHESTER, NY -
The RIT women's swimming and diving team (4-6) fell to LeMoyne College, 166-133 at Judson Pool on Saturday afternoon. Caitlyn Burr (Delhi, NY/Delaware Academy) won three events, and diver Cat Jones (Eden, NY/Eden) finished first twice.

In the 200-yard butterfly, Burr dominated the field, finishing 15 seconds ahead of the competition, in a time of 2:11.01. She also won the 100-yard freestyle and the 100-yard butterfly, finishing with times of 54.02 and 59.08, respectively.

Jones finished first in both the 1- and 3-meter dives. She earned a score of 201.65 in the 1-meter and crushed her opponents in the 3-meter dive, finishing with a score of 226.10.

Burr teamed up with Rachel Lorenz (Norwich, NY/Norwich), Kerzia Hopson (Norwich, NY/Norwich), and Rachel Redfearn (Marshfield, MA/Sacred Heart) to take home second place in the 200-yard medley relay, with a time of 1:54.74, just one second behind first place.

Sophomore Courtney Schwarting (Burnt Hills, NY/Burnt Hills Ballston Lake ) took home second-place finishes in the 200-, 500- and 1,000-yard freestyle, with times of 2:03.09, 5:31.47, and 11:37.69, respectively. Hopson and Lorenz also placed second twice in individual events.

The Tigers are back in action on Wednesday, when they travel to Williams Smith. The meet is set to start at 7 p.m.
