ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT men's soccer team dropped its third straight game, losing to Clarkson University (4-2-1) 1-0 in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon. The loss drops RIT to 2-4-1 on the season.

The first half ended in a 0-0 tie as the Golden Knights out shot the Tigers 8-3 in the opening half, including three on net. RIT keeper Ben Frazier (Westminster, MD/Westminster) stopped all three shots he faced.

Clarkson scored the game's only goal in the 48th minute. Brett Laudermilch fired a low-angled shot through a crowd and into the far left corner for the game's only tally.

RIT generated some decent chances in the latter stages of regulation. Matt Broedel (Hamilton, NY/Hamilton) had a shot from in close and Chris Somers (Spencerport, NY/Spencerport) had a good opportunity spoiled by Clarkson keeper Scott Stuart, who made one save on the day.

The Tigers hit the road next Friday to take on Empire 8 foe and defending conference champion Stevens. That game kicks off at 3 pm in Hoboken, New Jersey.
