ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT women's lacrosse won their program-best eighth straight game with an 18-12 win over Elmira College (3-11, 1-6 E8) on Sunday afternoon. The 18 goals scored by the Tigers is the most goals scored this season and three off the school mark. RIT improves to 12-3 overall and 7-0 in the Empire 8.
RIT out shot Elmira 40-28 and won the ground ball battle 29-15. The Tigers won 16-of-27 draw controls and cleared the ball 18-of-25 times. RIT went 5-for-8 on free position attempts.

Eileen Hennigan (Liverpool, NY/Christian Brothers Academy)# (Liverpool, NY/CBA) paced the Tigers ofensively with four points apiece. Pezze tallied four goals on the fternoon and Hennigan, who notched her 100th career goal yesterday at Ithaca, had three goals and added an assist.

Megan Henriksen (Silver Spring, MD/Our Lady of Good Counsel) had a pair of assists.
Pezze also was a force defensively, causing three turnovers, grabbing six ground balls and winning five draw controls.
#Kelsey Evans (Carlisle, PA/Cumberland Valley)# (Carlisle, PA/Cumberland Valley) picked up her twelfth win of the season. She made eight saves, allowing 11 goals in 55:59 of action.
#Elizabeth Cardella (Albany, NY/Colonie)# (Albany, NY/Colonie) played the final 4:01 and made one saves while allowing one goal.
RIT took control of the game in the first half, outscoring the Soaring Eagles 11-4. The Tigers went on a six-goal run midway through the half, breaking open a close game. Pezze scored three of her four goals in the first half and Pasicznyk and Podrasky each had two goals.
Elmira came back a bit in the second half, outscoring RIT 8-7 in the half. The Soaring Eagles had two, three-goal runs in the beginning and ends of the half. Sarah Young and Lindsay Mitchell each had four goals for Elmira.

The twelve wins by RIT is a record for wins in a season. The 7-0 start to the Empire 8 season is also a school record.
The Tigers will close out the regular season on Saturday, April 25 when they host eleventh-ranked Stevens at 12 pm on RIT's Turf Field. That game will likely decide the top seed in next month's Empire 8 tournament.
