BROCKPORT, NY -- The RIT women's lacrosse team beat Brockport 16-14 in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon. The win snaps a two-game losing streak by the Tigers and improves them to 4-2 on the season. The loss drops Brockport to 0-5.
RIT jumped out early and led 11-6 at the half, but the Golden Eagles responded with eight goals in the second half, but it wasnt enough as the Tigers held on for the win.
The Tigers outshot the Golden Eagles 36-32 and won the ground ball battle 19-13. RIT won 18 draw controls and cleared the ball 14-of-16 times.

#Danielle Previ (Medford, NJ/Shawnee)# (Medford, NJ/Shawnee) paced the Tigers offensively with four goals apiece.
#Rebecca Lampson (Penn Yan, NY/Penn Yan Academy)# (Penn Yan, NY) had a goal and two assists and
#Kim Hunt (Brockport, NY/Brockport)# (Brockport, NY) chipped in two goals.
#Allyson Pisher (Holley, NY/Holley)# (Rochester, NY/Holley),
#Nadia Pasicznyk (East Greenbush, NY/Columbia)# (East Greenbush, NY/Columbia),
#Eileen Hennigan (Liverpool, NY/Christian Brothers Academy)# (Liverpool, NY/CBA) and
#Sarah Frisicano (Rochester, NY/Greece Olympia)# (Rochester, NY/Greece Olympia) each had a goal. #
Allie Coppola (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park)# (Orchard Park, NY) had a pair of assists.
#Megan Henriksen (Silver Spring, MD/Our Lady of Good Counsel)# (Silver Spring, MD/Our Lady of Good Counsel) had four ground balls.
Nadia Pasicznyk (East Greenbush, NY/Columbia) added three.
#Kelsey Evans (Carlisle, PA/Cumberland Valley)# (Carlisle, PA/Cumberland Valley) picked up the win, allowing 14 goals and making 14 saves.
Pezze, Previ and Hunt each scored early in the first half, giving RIT a 3-0 lead. After a Brockport goal made it 3-1, Pezze scored her second of the half, giving RIT a 4-1 lead.
Julia Decker scored for the Golden Eagles, making it 4-2 but
Eileen Hennigan (Liverpool, NY/Christian Brothers Academy) made it 5-2 RIT with her sixth goal of the season.
Decker scored again for Brockport, cutting the RIT lead to 5-3 but Pasicznyk and Frisicano scored consecutive goals for the Tigers, giving them a 7-3 lead.
The Golden Eagles rattled off two straight goals, cutting into RIT's lead.
But, the Tigers responded with a four-goal run late in the first half. Previ, Hunt, Lampson and Hennigan each tallied goals for RIT giving the Tigers an 11-5 lead.
Amanda Massman scored with 1:51 remaining in the half to cut RIT's lead to 11-6 at the intermission.
Karen Bianchi opened the scoring in the second half, cutting RIT's lead to 11-7.
Pisher and Pezze each scored for RIT makig it 13-7 RIT.
The Golden Eagles scored two straight goals, creeping closer at 13-9 with 19:45 to play.
Previ and Pezze scored at 18:04 and 14:16 respectively to give the Tigers a 15-9 lead. Pezze's goal would prove to be the game-winning goal for RIT.
Brockport would not go away quietly, scoring five straight goals late in the second half. Melissa Hill made it 15-14 with 1:22 to play in reguation.
Previ put the game away with her fourth goal of the game with 19 seconds remaining to give RIT a 16-14 win.
RIT will face University of Rochester on Tuesday, March 31 on the campus of Rochester at 4 pm.
