MEADVILLE, PA - The RIT women's lacrosse team scored 13 of the game's first 17 goals en route to a 14-8 victory over Allegheny College (1-1) on Thursday afternoon. RIT won its third straight game to start the season. It is the first 3-0 start in program history.
RIT scored the first five goals of the second half to open up its largest lead of the game, 13-4, with 16:57 left in the contest. The Tigers went on an 11-2 run to break a 2-2 first half tie.

Senior goalkeeper

Allegheny out-shot RIT 38-32 and won the battle of ground balls, 23-16.
Meg Grossman scored three times to lead Allegheny. Abby Sylvester and Kiah Voyer-Colbat added two goals apiece for the Gators.
RIT has out-scored its foes 31-16 this season. Evans, the two-time reigning Empire 8 Goalkeeper of the Year, has a .745 save percentage this season.
The Tigers play their first home contest of the 2009 season on Tuesday, as they host Buffalo State at 4 p.m. This game will be played on the RIT Turf Field.
