ELMIRA, NY -- The RIT men's basketball team wrapped up the 2007-08 season in fine fashion, defeating Elmira College 73-58 on Sunday afternoon. The Tigers finish the season with a 14-11 overall record and even their Empire 8 record to 8-8.

The Tigers broke open a 29-29 halftime score with a 44-point effort in the second half. RIT opened the second half with a 19-5 run, building a 14-point lead on a from Shawn Roe (Corning, NY/Corning East) (Corning, NY/Corning East). It was his only  three points of the afternoon.

The Tigers shot 60% from the floor in the second half and 50% from the floor on the game.

Mark Carson (Voorheesville, NY/Voorheesville) (Voorheesville, NY) led the Tigers with 21 points and 12 rebounds. He was 8-of-10 from the floor and 5-of-9 from the foul line.

Kenny Gethers (Syracuse, NY/Bishop Grimes) (Syracuse, NY/Bishop Grimes) tallied 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting and Nate Korinchak (Strongsville, OH/Strongsville) (Strongsville, OH) added 10 points.
