PITTSFORD, NY -- The RIT women's basketball team lost their second straight game, losing to Nazareth College 63-57 in the Empire 8 opener for the Tigers. Freshman
#Sharon Dennis (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool)# (Liverpool, NY) led the Tigers with another double-double, tallying 20 points and grabbing 18 rebounds.
Nazareth built a nine-point lead in the first half, but the Tigers went on a late run and cut the Golden Flyers lead to 32-30 on layup by
Sharon Dennis (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool).
With time running out in the first half Kelly Dunne stole the ball from Dennis. Hillary Simon hit a jump shot as time ran out in the half to give the Flyers a 35-30 half time lead.
RIT shot 40% from the floor in the first half on 12-of-30 shooting. Dennis led RIT with 13 points and seven rebounds.
The Tigers cut the Golden Flyers lead to one point early in the second half on a layup from Dennis. Nazareth built their lead to 10 points with a 14-5 run.

Rachel Bruno (Clyde, NY/Clyde-Savannah)# (Clyde, NY/Clyde-Savannah). She finished with eight points on the afternoon.
The Tigers tied the score at 57-57 on a layup by freshman
#Tara Holaday (Arcola,IL/Arcola)# (Arcola, IL) with 2:31 remaining. Those would be the last points RIT would score as Nazareth scored the final six points over the last 2:31 of the ball game.
#Danielle Furman (Coudersport, PA/Coudersport)# (Coudersport, PA) added 12 points, five assists and two rebounds. She shot 3-for-12 from the floor but went 4-for-4 from the foul line.
The loss drops RIT to 2-4 overall and 0-1 in the Empire 8. The Tigers return to action on Tuesday, December 9 when they face Alfred University at 7 pm in Alfred, New York.
