OSWEGO, NY -
Senior forward Emily Traversi (Acton, MA/Acton-Boxborough) (Acton, MA/Acton Boxborough) scored the game's lone goal, leading the RIT women's soccer team (6-5-2) to a 1-0 win over SUNY Oswego in non-league action on Tuesday afternoon.

Traversi received a high pass from right side from sophomore Kendra Shelters (Lyons, NY/Lyons) (Lyons, NY/Lyons) inside the box and fired a shot to left post, beating Oswego goalie Toby Klein from the lower left  corner of the goal in the 17th minute.  The goal was Traversi's team-best fifth of the season and 16th of her collegiate career.

The Tigers took 10 shots for the game, while the stout RIT defense held Oswego to only two shots in the first half (both on goal), and fiveshots for the game.  RIT held a 7-2 edge in shots over the first 45 minutes.

Ashley Valenti (Honeoye Falls, NY/Honeoye Falls-Lima) (Honeoye Falls, NY/Honeoye Falls-Lima) played the first 45 minutes in goal for RIT, making two saves to earn the win, her third of the season, before being replaced by #Ashley Conti (Canfield, OH/Canfield)# (Canfield, OH/Canfield) in the second half, who also made a pair of saves.

Klein made four saves for SUNY Oswego, who falls to 5-7-1 in 2008.  The Lakers had five corner kicks to RIT's three.
