Mitchell had a great showing at the 2009 NYSCTC Championships hosted by RIT on Friday and Saturday. She was second in the 200-meter dash with a strong time of 26.74 seconds. She was also third in the 55-meter dash, completing the sprint in 7.57 seconds. Mitchell was also part of the 4 x 200-meter relay team that placed second in an ECAC qualifying time 0f 1:48.11
