Vera Antelo advanced to the third round in the singles bracket and along with Sara Bjork advanced to the semifinals in the doubles bracket at the 2013 ITA Northeast Region Championships hosted by William Smith College over the weekend.
Vera Antelo began her run in the singles bracket by defeating Ayaka Yoshino of Elmira, 6-2, 6-1 in the first round before dispatching Jessica Schmidt of New Paltz, 6-0, 6-2. In the third round, Vera Antelo suffered her defeat, falling to Brittany LaBruna of William Patterson, 6-2, 3-6, 5-7. On the doubles side, Vera Antelo and Bjork defeated Haley Kusak and Cristina Nunez of Ithaca 8-5 in the first round before defeating Emma Allen and Tara Criscuolo of The College of New Jersey, 9-7. The duo defeated Madie Benn and Melissa Hirsch of Skidmore, 8-6 in the quarterfinals, before suffering a tough 9-8 loss to Shena Joseph and Jane Selegean of Hunter, 9-8.
