Smith was the hero of RIT's two-game sweep of Holy Cross, scoring back-to-back hat-tricks on Friday and Saturday. Â The two hat-tricks were RIT's first as a Division I program. Â On Friday, Smith scored RIT's first goal of the contest, then two third period goals, including the game-tying goal with 3:59 left in the third period, as RIT won, 5-4 in overtime. Â On Saturday, Smith scored a power-play goal in the first and second period, then tipped in a shot by Brent Patry, 4:17 into overtime to lift RIT to the 5-4 win. With the six weekend goals, Smith now has 27 on the year and is tied for second in the nation. Smith's 17 power-play goals lead the country.
