Tim Insko begins his fifth season as the strength and conditioning coach and athletic trainer at RIT. He is primarily responsible for working with both the Division I RIT men’s and women’s hockey teams on and off the ice. In addition, he supervises the Tiger Power Den and works in strength and conditioning with all 600-plus RIT student-athletes.

Prior to arriving at RIT, Insko spent three seasons working with the USA Hockey Bantam Camp in Ames, Iowa. During that time, he honed his craft at Division I Iowa State University, while obtaining a second bachelor’s degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in athletic training, along with a master’s degree in educational leadership and policy studies. He worked with the football and track and field teams, and mentored all first- and second-year athletic training students.

Insko was awarded the Robert Watkins and Mary Swartz Athletic Training Student Award and was a Special Olympics and Drake Relays volunteer athletic training student while at Iowa State.

From 2001-06, Insko was a strength and conditioning specialist at Performace Therapies, P.C., in Coralville, Iowa.  He administered strength and conditioning programs for the Cedar Rapids Roughriders hockey team and several high schools in the region. In addition, he was a physical therapy aide for one year at the University of Iowa Hospitals.

Insko received his first bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1999 from the University of Iowa. He is certified by the National Athletic Training Association, and is a certified strength and conditioning specialist and corrective exercise specialist.

Insko resides in Webster with his wife, Becki.
