Shawn Sullivan begins his third season as an assistant coach at RIT in 2023-24. Sullivan started Upstate Elite, which became one of the top AAU programs in the country. His experience includes over 20 years of teaching and coaching at the high school level.

As a coach, Sullivan has won major AAU tournaments such as the Ramble in the Bronx, Rhode Island Jam Fest and defeated the top-ranked team at the AAU Nationals. He has worked some of the country’s top camps including both Five-Star and Hoop Group Elite camps.

Sullivan spent many summers working for Attack Athletics in Chicago with Tim Grover. His experience ranges from NBA players, foreign pros, college players and local players.

Sullivan played point guard for four years at Fredonia State and was a team captain. He earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics, earning a master’s degree in educational administration from Canisius.
Sullivan resides in Brighton with his wife Genevieve and their two children, Adrianna and Vinny.
