Rochester native Gabriel Marshall begins his fifth season as an assistant coach with the RIT men’s basketball program. Marshall, a 2004 graduate of Daemen College, received his bachelor’s degree in English.
Marshall, who graduated from Irondequoit High School in 2000, earned All-Greater Rochester Super 15, as well as All-Monroe County honors as a senior. In addition, Marshall led Irondequoit to back-to-back Monroe County titles and was the county’s leading scorer in 2000.
Before Marshall arrived at Daemen, he played two seasons at Mercer County Community College in West Windsor, N.J. Marshall was a two-year starter at MCCC and earned all-conference and all-state first team honors.
From 2002-2004, Marshall captained Daemen and as a senior, led the Wildcats in scoring and to the NAIA Elite 8. He earned team Most Improved Player honors and All-American Mideast Conference honors.
Marshall received his master’s degree in counselor education at SUNY Brockport in 2008, where he currently serves as a counselor with the EOP program. Marshall resides in Greece with his wife, Rachel, and daughter Gabrielle.
