Biography

2003-04: Followed an oustanding rookie with a solid sophmore season... tied for third on the team in scoring with 27 points on 10 goals and 17 assists... tallied 12 of his 27 points in ECAC West competition... was tied for the team lead with three game-winning goals... won 63% of the draws he took (313-495)... was a second-team All-ECAC West selection.

2002-03: Had a fantastic rookie season adding multiple points and awards to his report...led the freshman in scoring with 10 goals and 12 assists, playing in all 25 games...finished with a +12...was awarded the Craig Lauzon award for most impressive rookie, Green B. Williams award as the hockey player with the best academic record, and Empire 8 President’s List...named to the ECAC West All-Rookie team.

Before RIT: Played for the Cobourg Cougars for four years, registering 109 goals, 110 assists for 219 points...during his final year with the Cougars he earned League MVP, Playoff MVP, Player of the Month (Jan. & March), and was the second leading scorer in the conference...also played for the club team Peterborough Petes for four years winning two All-Ontario Championships.

Coach Wilson Says: “I’m expecting big things from Darren. He’s just begun to scratch the surface of his talent. I expect him to be one of the dominant players in the league.”
