AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The RIT baseball team held a two-run lead through eight innings on home runs by
Caelan Kim and
Hayes Waddell, but Wheaton (Mass.) rallied with a pair of runs in the ninth before scoring the go‑ahead run in the top of the 10th to defeat the Tigers, 4–3, Monday morning.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Kim, a senior, put RIT in front with a two‑run home run to left in the second inning.
- Sophomore Owen Fisher held the Lyons in check, striking out nine over five scoreless innings while allowing only two hits.
- Graduate student Hayes Waddell extended the Tigers' lead to 3–1 with a solo home run to right‑center in the eighth inning.
- Wheaton tied the game in the ninth with a walk, a hit‑by‑pitch, and a two-run single.
- The Lyons scored the winning run in the 10th inning on a sacrifice fly.
