Women's Lacrosse shuts out Bard, 18-0

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – RIT senior attack Zoe Heffernan tallied a career-high six goals to lead the Tigers to an 18-0 win at Bard in the Liberty League action, Saturday.
 
Junior attack Emma Ripley scored a career-high three goals and five points and senior midfielder Grace Validzic tallied three goals and an assist. Junior midfielder Sarah Hallinan score two goals, and senior midfielder Kate Trojan tallied a goal and two assists.
 
Senior attack Milena Stephen won 10 draw controls, while Heffernan had four ground balls. First year goalie Grace Riley made three saves in net for the Tigers for her first career shutout victory.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • RIT led 10-0 after the first quarter. Heffernan scored three goals and added an assist. Validzic scored two goals in the opening frame, while Stephen, Trojan, Hallinan, Giana DeLucia, and Emma Ripley each scored in the first quarter.
  • Heffernan scored the lone goal of the second quarter off an assist from Trojan to give the Tigers an 11-0 lead at halftime.
  • Heffernan and Hallinan each scored in the third quarter to extend RIT's lead to 13-0.
  • Ripley scored her second goal of the game with 5:17 remaining in the third quarter to give the Tigers a 14-0 lead.
  • Heffernan scored her sixth goal of the game early in the fourth quarter to give the Tigers a 15-0 lead and Ripley scored her third with 11:14 remaining to give RIT a 16-0 lead.
  • Validzic scored her third goal of the game to extend the Tiger's lead to 17-0 and senior attack Serafina Kiselgof scored off an assist from Bovenzi to make it an 18-0 final.
 
 
GAME NOTES:
  • RIT outshot Bard, 34-3.
  • The Tigers won 15-of-20 draws and 7-of-7 on clears.
  • RIT had 24 ground balls and caused 17 turnovers.
  • It is RIT's second shutout in program history. The last came back in 2024 at Bard.
