OWINGS MILLS, MD – RIT sophomore attack
Ryan Sanders scored four goals and added an assist to lead the No. 13 Tigers to a 10-7 win over No. 9 Gettysburg in the opening game of the Callum Robinson Mustang Classic, Friday.

Joe Holenstein had seven ground balls and caused two turnovers. Senior defenseman
Alexander Chairs caused three turnovers and had five ground balls and first-year
Philip Minardo won 9-of-14 faceoffs and had six ground balls. Senior goalie
Alex Zborowski made 13 saves in net.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Sanders scored 56 seconds into the first period to give RIT a 1-0 lead.
- Gettysburg's Ethan Kessler scored with 12:54 to play that tied the game at 1-1
- Minardo gave the Tigers a 2-1 lead on his goal with 12:50 to play in the opening frame.
- Sophomore midfielder Ryan Langille scored off an assist from Sanders to give the Tigers a 3-1 lead and Sanders tallied his second goal of the quarter to extend RIT's lead to 4-1.
- Sanders scored 52 seconds into the second quarter to give RIT a 5-1 lead.
- Gettysburg scored two straight goals, cutting the Tigers lead to 5-3 on Charlie Johnson's goal with 9:12 to play in the half.
- Junior attack Erich Acton scored off an assist from first-year midfielder Evan Lyon to give the Tigers a 6-3 lead.
- Luke Barbera scored with 2:06 to play to cut RIT's lead to 6-4 at halftime.
- Johnson scored 51 seconds into the third quarter that cut RIT's lead to 6-5.
- Bullock scored off an assist from Harkins with 29 seconds remaining in the third to give the Tigers a 7-5 lead.
- Harkins scored midway through the fourth quarter to give RIT a 7-5 lead.
- Sanders scored his fourth goal of the game with 4:32 to play to increase the Tiger's lead to 9-5.
- Barbera and Jackson Barroll scored back-to-back goal, cutting RIT's lead to 9-7 on Barbera's goal with 1:27 remaining.
- Bullock scored with 40 seconds to play to make it a 10-7 final.
GAME NOTES:
- Wesleyan outshot RIT 42-38.
- The Tigers went 26-of-27 on clearing attempts and 0-for-2 on man-up.
- RIT won 11-of-20 faceoffs and had 39 ground balls.
