UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio – The RIT baseball team suffered a pair of losses Friday, falling 12-10 to John Carroll in the morning matchup before falling just short in a 10–9 setback to Mount Union in the afternoon.
GAME ONE (JOHN CARROLL 12, RIT 10)
- RIT put up four runs in the third and four more in the fourth to take an 8–4 lead. Senior Jackson Rusiecki delivered a two‑run double and finished 2-for‑6 with three RBI.
- Graduate student Hayes Waddell had a standout day, going 2-for-4 with a three‑run homer, two walks and three runs scored.
- John Carroll rallied with a six‑run eighth to regain a 12–10 advantage.
- Senior Jarin Moses added a pair of doubles and two RBI, while classmate Caelen Kim finished 2-for‑5 with two runs.
GAME TWO (MOUNT UNION 10, RIT9)
- RIT trailed 7–3 midway through but battled back with single runs in the eighth and ninth to bring the tying run aboard in the final frame.
- Evan Kurtz, a junior, led the Tigers with a 3-for-4 performance, scoring once and reaching base four times.
- Rusiecki stayed hot at the plate, scoring twice and driving in two more as part of a 2-for‑5 effort.
- Jarin Moses doubled twice and drove in two runs for the second straight game.
- Relief pitching steadied the Tigers late, including two scoreless frames from senior right-hander Joseph Wozny.
