UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio – The RIT baseball team dropped a 10–7 decision against Mount Union on Saturday afternoon in a neutral-site game on the campus of John Carroll. The Tigers scored in six different innings and collected 10 hits, including a two-run homer from graduate student
Max Matteucci, but a six-run fourth inning by the Purple Raiders proved too much to overcome.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Senior Jackson Rusiecki doubled to left in the first and later scored on senior Trent Rapp's RBI single for an early 1–0 lead.
- Evan Kurtz, a junior, walked and moved to third on a single from senior Caelen Kim before scoring on a pickoff attempt to bring RIT within 3–2.
- With two outs in the fifth, Kim doubled down the right‑field line to drive in Kurtz and senior Charlie Slaymaker, tying the game at 4–4.
- Senior Jarin Moses singled and scored on Matteucci's two-run homer to right to make it a 9–6 Mount Union lead in the sixth.
- Rapp singled and scored on Moses' RBI double to left in the eighth, trimming the deficit to 10–7.

- Kim went 3-for-5 with three RBI, including a two‑run double.
- Moses reached base four times (2-for-3, two walks) and scored twice.
- TRapp finished 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.
