Women's Hockey comes back to beat Delaware, 3-2

NEWARK, DE – RIT first year forward Tilli Keranen scored the game-winning goal with 57 seconds remaining in regulation to lead the Tigers to a 3-2 win at Delaware, Thursday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Senior forward Jaidan Fahrny scored at 8:56 of the first period to give RIT a 1-0 lead. She scored on a wrist-shot from the slot off an assist from first year defender Laura Dyke.
  • Francesca Barresi scored a power play goal 13:58 of the second period to tie the game at 1-1.
  • Barresi tallied her second goal of the period at 15:45 of the frame to extend the Fighting Blue Hens lead to 2-1.
  • First year defender Lily Andreassi scored at 11:52 of the third period to tie the game 2-2. She gathered the loose puck inside the Delaware zone and fired a wrist shot into the corner for her first collegiate goal.
  • Keranen scored with 57 seconds to play to give RIT the lead. Junior forward Addie Alvarez sent a pass to the front of Delaware's net. Keranen cut into the slot and scored past Delaware goalie Charlotte Payne.
 
GAME NOTES:
  • RIT outshot Delaware, 40-20.
  • RIT was 0-for-4 with the extra skater, and the Blue Hens were 2-for-3.
  • Senior goalie Sophia Bellina made 18 saves in net for RIT.
