Women's Hockey loses 5-1 at Lindenwood

SAINT CHARLES, MO – RIT sophomore forward Zoe Ziotas scored a goal in the Tigers 5-1 loss at Lindenwood, Saturday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Paige Cline scored 2:24 into the first period to give Lindenwood the lead.
  • Silje Gundersen gave the Lions a 2-0 lead on her power play goal at 8:48 of the opening frame.
  • Ziotas scored at 14:06 of the first period to cut Lindenwood's lead to 2-1. She poked in a loose puck in front of the Lion's net.
  • Senior goalie Sophia Bellina made 11 saves in a scoreless second period. RIT fired 12 shots on goal in in the frame, including four from sophomore forward Brac Kelley.
  • Zsofia Pazmandi scored a power play goal 1:02 into the third period to give Lindenwood a 3-1 lead and Molly Henderson gave the Lions a 4-1 lead on her goal at 2:49.
  • Pazmandi added an empty-net goal at 16:31 to make it a 5-1 final.
 
GAME NOTES:
  • RIT outshot Lindenwood, 33-31.
  • RIT was 0-for-3 with the extra skater, while Lindenwood went 2-for-5
  • Bellina made 20 saves in net, while Sophomore Brenna McNamara made six saves in relief.
