Women's Hockey loses 3-2 at Syracuse

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – RIT junior forward Linda Rulle tallied a goal and an assist in the Tigers 3-2 loss at Syracuse, Friday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Jackson Kinser scored 7:24 into the first period to give Syracuse the lead.
  • Senior forward Jaidan Fahrny tied the game at 1-1 on her power play goal at 11:08 of the first period. Rulle and junior forward Addie Alvarez each had an assist.
  • Peyton Armstrong scored at 15:15 of the second period to give Syracuse a 2-1 lead.
  • Rulle scored a power play goal at 17:03 of the second period to tie the score at 2-2. First year forward Tilli Keranen fired a shot from the point that Barnes tipped in.
  • RIT had a potential go-ahead goal waived off due to an offside call early in the third period.
  • Jessica Cheung scored the game-winner at 18:38 of the third period to make it a 3-2 final.
 
GAME NOTES:
  • Syracuse outshot RIT, 36-35.
  • RIT did not have a power play, while Syracuse went 0-for-5
  • Sophomore Brenna McNamara made 33 saves in relief.
 
WHAT'S NEXT:
RIT returns to action on Saturday (Feb. 7) against Syracuse at 3:00 p.m. RIT will honor seniors Sophia Bellina, Jaidan Fahrny, Karly Kolssak and Lexi Sung before tomorrow's game.
