Men’s Basketball falls at home to Ithaca, 83-72

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT men's basketball team fell 83–72 to Ithaca Saturday afternoon inside Clark Gymnasium. The Tigers led 36–32 at halftime, but the Bombers used a 51‑point second half to pull away.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • RIT opened the game on a 10–2 run, which included a three-pointer from first-year forward Xavier Nelson.
  • The Tigers led by as much as 15 points (24-9) when Nelson hit a jumper with 12:15 left in the first half.
  • Ithaca tied the game early in the second half on a Matthew Zenker three at 18:26 on the clock.
  • The Bombers took the lead for good with a 9–0 run midway through the second half, eventually pushing ahead 51–47.
  • Junior guard Brody Brown knocked down a three with 55 seconds left for RIT's final points of the afternoon.
 
GAME NOTES
  • Turner finished with 22 points on 8-of‑11 shooting, adding six rebounds, four assists, two blocks, and two steals.
  • Nelson tallied 15 points and three rebounds.
  • Brown contributed 12 points, including two first-half threes.
  • RIT shot 45 percent (27-for-60) from the floor and 7-for-21 from three.
  • Zenker led Ithaca with 18 points and eight rebounds, while the Bombers hit 10 three‑pointers.
