Women's Hockey loses 6-2 at Lindenwood

SAINT CHARLES, MO – The RIT women's hockey team lost 6-2 in Atlantic Hockey America action at Lindenwood, Friday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Sophomore forward Kailey Favro scored at 7:19 of the first period to give RIT a 1-0 lead. She broke in and fired a wrist shot that Lindenwood goalie, Lexington Secreto saved. The rebound came to Favro who tapped it in to give the Tigers the lead.
  • Molly Henderson tied the game at 1-1 on her goal at 12:29 of the first period.
  • Silje Gundersen scored a power play goal 1:34 into the second period to give the Lions a 2-1 lead and Tatiana Blichova scored at 6:08 of the second period to increase the Lions' lead to 3-1.
  • Blichova scored her second goal of the period at 8:05 to increase Lindenwood's lead to 4-1.
  • Ellie Muscedere scored at 12:02 of the third period to give Lindenwood at 5-1 lead.
  • First year forward Olivia Urbach scored at 12:22 of the third to cut Lindenwood's lead to 5-2.
  • Gundersen added an empty-net goal at 19:25 of the third period to make it a 6-2 final.
 
GAME NOTES:
  • Lindenwood outshot RIT, 38-25.
  • RIT was 0-for-2 with the extra skater, while Lindenwood went 2-for-5
  • Senior goalie Sophia Bellina made 32 saves in net.
