Women's Hockey wins 4-3 in OT at Lindenwood

MARYLAND HEIGHTS, MO – RIT senior defender Kyla Bear scored two goals including the game winner in overtime to lead the Tigers to a 4-3 win at Lindenwood, Saturday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Senior forward Jordyn Bear scored at 16:04 of the first period off assists from senior forward Athena Vasdani and first year forward Brac Kelley to give RIT a 1-0 lead.
  • Senior forward Kylie Aquaro scored 11 seconds into the second period to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead. She scored on a rebound off a shot from senior forward Megan McCormick to give RIT a two-goal lead.
  • Kyla Bear broke in on Lindenwood goalie Anna LaRose and scored on a wrist shot at 13:18 of the second period to give the Tigers a 3-0 lead.
  • Sena Takenaka scored a power play goal with 15 seconds remaining in the second period that cut the Tiger's lead to 3-1.
  • Morgan Nietzke scored at 10:36 of the third period to cut RIT's lead to 3-2 and Gigi Pora scored at 15:43 to tie the game at 3-3.
  • Kyla Bear took a pass from sophomore forward Addie Alvarez at center-ice and skated into the Lindenwood zone. She fought off a Lions defender and scored to make it a 4-3 final.
 
GAME NOTES
  • RIT outshot Lindenwood 36-27
  • The Tigers went 1-for-7 on the power play, while the Lions were 1-for-5
  • Senior goalie Sarah Coe made 24 saves in net
