Women's Hockey falls 4-1 at home to No. 9 Penn State

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT senior forward Jordyn Bear scored a goal in the Tigers 4-1 loss to No. 9 Penn State, Friday.
 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Grace Outwater scored off an assist from Stella Retrum at 14:25 of the first period to give Penn State a 1-0 lead.
  • Senior goalie Sarah Coe made 13 saves in the opening frame including one on Tessa Janecke at 7:08.
  • Senior defensewoman Kyla Bear had her shot from the point at 6:01 of the second period saved by Penn State goalie Lauren Barbro.
  • Lyndie Lobdell scored at 8:24 of the second to give the Nittany Lions a 2-0 lead.
  • Nicole Hall gave the Nittany Lions a 3-0 lead on her goal at 14:22 of the period.
  • Sophomore forward Addie Alvarez intercepted the puck at center-ice and skated in alone at 3:59 of the third period. Her shot from the slot was smothered by Barbro.
  • Bear scored a power play goal at 7:05 of the third period to cut Penn State's lead to 3-1. Senior forward Bronwyn Khangsar fired a shot from the point. The rebound came to Bear in front. She tapped in the loose puck to get the Tigers on the scoreboard.
  • Tiffany Hill scored at 19:10 of the third period to make it a 4-1 final.

  • Penn State outshot RIT 40-18
  • The Tigers went 0-for-1 on the power play, while the Nittany Lions were 1-for-2
  • Coe made 36 saves in net
