Women's Hockey downs Delaware, 5-2

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT junior defender Emma Pickering and sophomore forward Brac Kelley each scored two goals to lead the Tigers to a 5-2 win over Delaware, Friday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Delaware's Kaitlin Finnegan scored 3:01 into the first period to give the Blue Hens the lead.
  • RIT fired eight shots on net in the opening frame, including two from sophomore forward Kailey Favro late in the period.
  • Tiana McIntyre gave Delaware a 2-0 lead on her goal at 1:32 of the second period.
  • Pickering scored her first goal of the period at 10:18 of the second to cut the Blue Hens lead to 2-1.
  • Sophomore forward Zoe Ziotas tied the game at 2-2 on her goal at 10:25 of the second.
  • Pickering gave RIT a 3-2 lead on her power play goal at 11:21 of the second period.
  • Kelley scored 2:48 into the third period to extend RIT's lead to 4-2.
  • She tallied her second goal of the game at 7:57 of the third period to make it a 5-2 final.
 
GAME NOTES:
  • RIT outshot Delaware, 46-13.
  • RIT was 1-for-2 with the extra skater, and the Blue Hens were 0-for-3.
  • Senior goalie Sophia Bellina made 11 saves in net for RIT.
  • Kelley and Pickering tied their career-highs for goals in a game.
