Women's Hockey downs Robert Morris, 6-3

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT junior defender Emma Pickering had a career-high four assists to lead the Tigers to a 6-3 win over Robert Morris, Saturday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Junior forward Linda Rulle scored a power play goal at 8:24 of the first period to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead.
  • Rulle tipped in a shot from Pickering for her seventh goal of the season.
  • First year defender Cassandra Kehler scored her first collegiate goal 1:50 into the second period to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead, scoring on a tip-in in front of the Colonials' net.
  • Linnea Misner scored a power play goal at 10:53 of the second period to cut RIT's lead to 2-1.
  • Sophomore forward Zoe Ziotas scored on a wrist-shot into the upper corner at 14:50 of the second period to give the Tigers a 3-1 lead.
  • Senior forward Jaidan Fahrny scored at 15:36 to extend RIT's lead to 4-1.
  • Jessica MacKinnon scored at 16:14 to cut RIT's lead to 4-2.
  • MacKinnon scored her second goal of the game at 4:57 of the third period to cut RIT's lead to 4-3.
  • Sophomore forward Brac Kelley scored on a wrist shot into the corner at 9:54 of the third to give the Tigers a 5-3 lead.
  • First year forward Tilli Keranen scored an empty-net goal at 15:44 to make it a 6-3 final.
 
GAME NOTES:
  • Robert Morris outshot RIT, 33-19.
  • RIT was 1-for-5 with the extra skater, and the Colonials were 2-for-6.
  • Senior goalie Sophia Bellina made 30 saves in net for RIT.
