ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT women's hockey team hits the road for a pair of nonconference games at No. 14 Northeastern on Friday and Saturday (Oct. 3-4). Friday's game starts at 6:00 p.m., while Saturday's game starts at 2:00 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT:
RIT swept a pair of non-conference games against Post winning 2-0 and 8-1. First year forward
Kolbee Ashe scored her first collegiate goal and added an assist in Friday's win. Sophomore forward
Ireland Stein scored, and senior goalie
Sophia Bellina made 13 saves for her third career shutout.
Saturday, RIT set a program-record scoring six power play goals, finishing 6-for-9. First year forward
Tilli Keranen tallied two goals and had an assist in Saturday's victory. Junior forward
Addie Alvarez scored a goal, and an assist and junior defender
Emma Pickering recorded a career-high three assists. First years
Laura Dyke,
Olivia Urbach and
Cassie Barnes each recorded their first collegiate points. Sophomore goalie
Brenna McNamara made eight saves to earn the win in goal.
ABOUT RIT:
RIT enters the weekend averaging 5.0 goals per game, while allowing 0.5 goals per contest. The Tigers are 7-of-13 on the power play and have yet to allow a power play goal. RIT has won 58-of-35 (62.4%) of its faceoffs.
Keranen, Ashe and Pickering lead RIT with five points apiece. Keranen and Ashe each have two goals and an assist, while Pickering has three assists. Alvarez (1g, 1a), Dyke (1g, 1a), Barnes (1g, 1a) and Stein (1g, 1a) each have two points.
Bellina is 1-0. She has a 1.000 save percentage and has yet to concede a goal. McNamara enters the weekend with a 1-0 record, a 1.00 goals-against average and a .889 save percentage.
MILESTONES:
Alvarez is tied for 53rd in career scoring. She needs one point to tie Wendy Wright and
Kyla Bear for 51st in all-time scoring (55 points). Pickering enters the weekend with 37 career points. She needs one point to tie Kelley Prom, Shireen Irani and Lindsay Maloney for 75th in career scoring (38 points).
Bellina moved into tenth all-time with 1, 970 minutes played. She is ninth all-time with 927 career saves, 11th with a 2.16 career goals-against average and tied for seventh with a .929 career save percentage.

RIT VS. NORTHEASTERN:
The Huskies are 14-0-1 all-time versus RIT. This weekend will be the first meeting between the two teams since the 2014-15 season when the two teams played to a 2-2 draw.
ATLANTIC HOCKEY RANKINGS:
RIT enters the weekend first in Atlantic Hockey averaging 5.0 goals per game and first allowing 0.5 goals per contest. The Tigers are second in assists averaging 6.5 per game and lead the AHA averaging 11.5 points per game. RIT is first in power play (53.8%) and penalty killing (1.000%).
RANKED OPPONENTS:
RIT plays four ranked opponents in 2025-26 schedule. The Tigers play at No. 14 Northeastern (Oct. 3-4) and hosts No. 10 St. Lawrence (Oct. 16-17). RIT plays at No. 7 Colgate (Nov. 7-8) and will face No. 6 Penn State at home on Nov. 21 and 22 and on the road Feb. 13-14.
THEY COME FROM FAR AND WIDE:
The 23 Tigers hail from eight states, five Canadian provinces and two countries in Europe, with the largest groups coming from Ontario (4) and Saskatchewan (4). Players hail from as close as Rochester, NY to as far away as Kuopio, Finland (4,353 miles).
2025-26 SCHEDULE:
The Tigers begin their season with a two-game series against Post, before a weekend series at No. 14 Northeastern (Oct. 3-4).
RIT beings conference play with a pair of games at Robert Morris (Oct. 10-11. The Tigers return home to host No. 9 St. Lawrence for a two-game series October 16-17 as part of Brick City Homecoming and Family Weekend.
The Tigers host Syracuse on October 24 followed by a game at Syracuse the following day. RIT hosts Lindenwood for a pair of AHA contests October 31 and November 1.
RIT plays at No. 6 Colgate (Nov. 7-8) followed by a weekend series at Mercyhurst (Nov. 14-15). The Tigers host No. 8 Penn State for two games (Nov. 21-22) and Robert Morris (Nov. 28-29). RIT closes out the first semester with a pair of AHA home games against Delaware (Dec. 5-6).
The second semester begins with two conference games at Delaware (Jan. 8-9), followed by a pair of home games versus Mercyhurst (Jan. 16-17). RIT closes out the month of January with two games at Lindenwood (Jan. 30-31).
The Tigers kick off February with a home-and-home series against Syracuse. RIT plays at Syracuse (Feb. 6) followed by a home game the following day. RIT wraps up the regular season with a pair of home games at Penn State (Feb. 13-14).

Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) embarks on its second season in 2025-26 following the merger between the Atlantic Hockey Association and College Hockey America.
