Women's Hockey falls 3-2 at home to Mercyhurst

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT senior defensewoman Kyla Bear scored two goals in the Tigers 3-2 loss to Mercyhurst in Atlantic Hockey America action, Friday.
 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Vanessa Upson scored at 12:16 of the first period to give Mercyhurst a 1-0 lead.
  • Upson tallied her second goal of the period at 17:54 to increase the Laker's lead to 2-0.
  • Jade Maisonneuve gave Mercyhurst a 3-0 on her goal at 9:02 of the second period.
  • Sophomore defender Emma Pickering had a chance from the slot at 4:46 of the third period turned aside by Mercyhurst goalie Magdalene Luggin.
  • Bear scored on a wrist shot from the face-off dot at 6:38 if the third period, beating Luggin into the corner to cut the deficit to 3-1.
  • Bear tallied her second of the game at 16:40 to cut the Mercyhurst lead to 3-2. Addie Alvarez fired a shot. The rebound came to Bear in front, and she poked it past Luggin to make it a one-goal game.
 
GAME NOTES
  • Mercyhurst outshot RIT 37-22
  • The Tigers did not have a power play chance, while the Lakers were 0-for-2
  • Senior goalie Sarah Coe made 34 saves in net
