Women's Hockey downs Assumption 5-0

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT senior defensewoman Kyla Bear tallied a career-high three assists to lead the Tigers to a 5-0 win over Assumption, Saturday.
 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • First year forward Ireland Stein scored a power play goal 6:46 into the opening period off an assist from senior forward Kylie Aquaro to give RIT the lead.
  • Senior defensewoman Jessie Burks scored at 11:32 of the opening frame off an assist from Bear to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead.
  • Aquaro scored RIT's second power play goal of the game off assists from first year forward Brac Kelley and senior defensewoman Mia Tsilemos at 3:34 of the second period to increase RIT's lead to 3-0.
  • Graduate student forward Nicole Ness tallied her first goal of the season at 14:18 of the second to give the Tigers a 4-0 lead.
  • Senior forward Megan McCormick scored at 7:17 of the third period off an assist from Bear and senior defensewoman Bailey Kehl to make it a 5-0 final.
 
 
GAME NOTES
  • RIT outshot Assumption 38-11.
  • Senior goalie Sarah Coe made 11 saves in net to record her second career shut-out.
  • The Tigers were 2-for-6 with the extra skater and held the Greyhounds to 0-for-3 on the power play.
  • Kelley recorded her first collegiate point, while Bear had a career-best three points
