Women’s Soccer falls at Wooster, 3-0

WOOSTER, Ohio – The RIT women's soccer team fell 3-0 to Wooster on the road Saturday, in non-conference action.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • RIT had a chance to get on the board in the 55th minute when junior forward Elena Onodera sent a shot off the post and away from goal.
  • A minute later, Wooster's Hallie Krzys scored off a shot from inside the penalty box to break the stalemate.
  • Onodera had another opportunity in the 71st minute that was saved by Scots' goalkeeper.
  • Wooster made it 2-0 in the 76th minute when Annie Heneger found the back of the net with a shot in traffic.
  • The Scots put the game away in the 83rd minute when Krzys converted a penalty kick.
 
GAME NOTES
  • RIT out-shot the Scots 15 to 12 with Wooster putting eight shots on goal to the Tigers' five shots on goal.
  • In goal, junior Emily Sanchez and first-year Avery Donnelly combined to make five saves.
  • The defeat is the first of the season for the Tigers after starting 2024 with a five-game unbeaten streak.
