GENEVA, N.Y. – RIT women's soccer dropped their Liberty League opener on the road, 2-1, against No.12 William Smith, Wednesday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Herons scored first when Ava Brazie found the ball in front of goal off a corner kick, sending a short shot in traffic to the back of the net in the 33rd minute.
- Kaleigh Darby added a second goal for William Smith in the 57th minute to make it a 2-0 lead.
- The Tigers got one back when senior midfielder Jessie Gomez converted a penalty kick in the 77th minute.
GAME NOTES
- With the goal, Gomez now has 7 points (3 goals, 1 assist) this season.
- In goal, senior Emily Sanchez recorded a season-high seven saves in the loss.
- William Smith out-shot the Tigers, 19 to 3.
