Chapman named Coordinator of Athletic Communications

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - RIT Director of Athletic Communications Tim Volkmann announced Micah Chapman has been named Coordinator of Athletic Communications.

"We are excited to work with someone who has the level of experience Micah possesses," said Volkmann. "He has previously sat in the director's chair and run his own office at a high level, so he will be an invaluable member of our team as we tout all the great things our student-athletes are achieving."

Chapman brings nearly eight years of experience in college athletic communications, including five years as Sports Information Director at NCAA Division-II Roberts Wesleyan from 2011-16, along with two years as Assistant Athletic Communications Director at NCAA Division-II University of Colorado-Colorado Springs from 2016-18. He most recently worked as a digital marketing specialist in the multifamily property management industry for the past five years.

"I am thrilled to be back in athletic communications and having the opportunity to be a part of the RIT community is something I'm looking forward to," said Chapman.

A U.S. Air Force veteran, Chapman was an Airman with multiple overseas deployments in support of the Global War on Terrorism during his four years of service as a vehicle operator. He then went on to earn a bachelor's degree in media promotions from Greenville University (Ill.) in 2010 before completing a master's in sports management at West Virginia University a year later.

A native of nearby Churchville, N.Y., Micah resides in Chili with his wife, Lauren, and his two children, Nolan and Harper.
