Women's Lacrosse loses 14-8 to Union

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT sophomore attack Serafina Kiselgof tied her career-high scoring five goals in the Tigers 14-8 loss to Union, Saturday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Greta Maurer and Dana Nelson each scored early in the first quarter to give Union a 2-0 lead.
  • Kiselgof scored back-to-back goals, tying the score at 2-2 on her goal from senior attack Carrissa Hlywa with 8:24 to play in the opening frame.
  • Union's Gillian Joseph scored inside the final minute of the first quarter to give the Garnett Chargers a 3-2 lead.
  • Union scored the first three goals of the second quarter, extending its lead to 6-2 on Katie Julien's goal with 9:31 remaining in the half.
  • Kiselgof tallied two straight goals, cutting the Union lead to 6-4 on her goal from sophomore attack Adele Jones with 2:31 to play in the half.
  • Joseph scored back-to-back goals early in the third quarter, extending Union's lead to 8-4 on her goal midway through the quarter.
  • Kiselgof scored her fifth of the game with 7:28 to play in the third and sophomore midfielder Morgan Nichter scored with 5:03 to play to cut Union's lead to 8-6.
  • Sophomore midfielder Bella Boardman scored off an assist from Nichter with time running out in the third to cut the Union lead to 10-8.
  • Maddy Schiller scored twice and Julien and Maurer each scored in the fourth quarter to make it a 14-8 final.
 
GAME NOTES
  • Union outshot RIT, 27-18.
  • Sophomore goalie Ellie Ruddy made five saves in net.
  • Boardman and Nichter each had a goal and an assist, while first-year defender Katherine Killian won three draw controls, caused two turnovers and had six ground balls.
  • RIT went 12-of-13 on clearing attempts and won 13-of-25 draw controls.
