Women's Lacrosse wins 20-8 at Nazareth

PITTSFORD, N.Y. – RIT sophomore Milena Stephen scored a career-high four goals to lead the Tigers to a 20-8 win at Nazareth, Saturday.
 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Sophomore Adele Jones scored two goals in a seven-goal first quarter for RIT.
  • Sophomore Serafina Kiselgof gave the Tigers a 7-0 lead on her goal with 24 seconds remaining in the quarter.
  • Nazareth's Maggie Vay scored early in the second quarter to cut the Tigers lead to 7-1.
  • Stephen scored twice in a three-goal Tiger's run, while sophomore Morgan Nichter gave RIT a 10-1 lead midway through the quarter.
  • Nazareth scored five straight goals to end the quarter, cutting the RIT lead to 10-6 on Kate Metzler's goal with 11 seconds to play in the half.
  • Kiselgof scored two goals and senior Carrissa Hlywa and sophomore Bella Boardman each had a goal and an assist in a seven-goal third quarter for RIT.
  • Kiselgof scored on an assist from sophomore Morgan Nichter with 1:02 remaining in the third to extend the Tiger's lead to 17-6.
  • Boardman, Hlywa and junior Lily DePalma each scored in the fourth quarter to make it a 20-8 final.
 
GAME NOTES:
  • RIT outshot Nazareth, 42-18.
  • Sophomore goalie Ellie Ruddy made eight saves to earn her first collegiate win.
  • Hlywa led RIT with a career-high five points (3g, 2a), while DePalma finished with two goals and three assists. Boardman had a career-high three goals and four points and Kiselgof scored three goals.
  • RIT went 12-of-13 on clears and had 11 ground balls.
