Women's Basketball loses at home to Ithaca, 70-52

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT senior guard Emma Waite scored a team-high 13 points as the women's basketball team fell to Ithaca, 70-52, Tuesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Ithaca started the game on a five minute 8-2 scoring run
  • Waite made a jumper at 2:25, cutting Ithaca's lead to one
  • The Bombers took a 19-11 lead after the first quarter
  • First-year forward Faye Kaplinski made a driving layup at 2:55, cutting Ithaca's lead to five
  • Junior forward Sonya Shivok scored on a driving layup as time expired in the second quarter
  • Ithaca took a 28-24 lead going into halftime
  • A driving layup from Waite at 6:59 gave the Tigers a 33-32 lead, their first lead of the game
  • Ithaca regained the lead with a pair of free throws at 4:50 in the third
  • First-year Lauren Sabia made a layup at 3:32, cutting the Bombers lead to one
  • Ithaca has a 46-43 lead after three quarters of play
  • Sophomore guard Ansley Orrell sunk a shot from behind the arc to open the fourth, tying the game at 46
  • The Bombers go on a 10-0 scoring run and have a 56-46 lead with 5:37 left in the game
  • Ithaca finished the game outscoring RIT 14-6, giving the Tigers a 18 point loss

GAME NOTES
  • The Tigers were 9-for-15 (60%) from the free throw line
  • Junior guard Kaitlyn Bockelman had 11 points, going 2-for-4 (50%) from beyond the arc
  • Ithaca outrebounded RIT, 53-36
