Men's Basketball loses 99-93 to Clarkson in overtime

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT senior forward Kenny Wilburn scored 25 points in the Tigers 99-93 overtime loss to Clarkson, Saturday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Clarkson's Jack Dalgety scored on a driving layup with 10:57 remaining in the first half to give the Golden Knights a 28-12 lead.
  • RIT outscored Clarkson 33-16 the remainder of the half to lead 45-44 at the break.
  • Junior forward Josiah Turner scored 17 of his 18 first-half points in the run, while Wilburn tallied eight points including a layup as time expired to give the Tigers the lead.
  • Dalgety hit a three-pointer with 17:38 to play in the second half to give Clarkson a 50-48 lead, while Ryan Miles-Ferguson gave the Golden Knights a 53-51 lead on an old-fashioned three-point play.
  • Senior guard Keegan Ocorr tied the game on his driving layup with 13:14 remaining.
  • Miles-Ferguson hit a three-pointer to give Clarkson a 64-60 lead, but Caggiano hit a three on RIT's next possession to make it a one-point game midway through the half.
  • Wilburn made two straight buckets to extend the RIT lead to 67-64 on his layup with 8:52 to play.
  • Miles-Ferguson made a pair of free throws with 8:20 to play to give Clarkson a 68-67 lead.
  • Wilburn made it a one possession game with his bucket off an assist from Ocorr with 1:53 to play.
  • Miles-Ferguson hit a three-pointer with 1:33 to play to give the Golden Knights an 85-80 lead, while Dalgety made a pair of free throws with 27 seconds to play to give Clarkson an 87-84 lead.
  • Senior guard Matt Caggiano drained a three-pointer from the top of the arc with 17 seconds remaining to tie the score at 87-87.
  • Turner scored early in overtime to give RIT an 89-87 lead, while Dalgety hit a three-pointer with 2:33 remaining to give Clarkson a 92-89 lead.
  • Ocorr converted two free throws to cut the deficit to 92-91, but Steve DeRegis made two free throws in the closing seconds to make it a 99-93 final.

  • RIT shot 33-of-69 (47.8%) from the floor, including 19 three pointers.
  • RIT held a 44-38 rebounding edge
  • Turner tallied 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds, Caggiano tallied 10 points off the bench, while junior Brock Bowen finished with 11 points, six rebounds and four assists
