Women’s Soccer wins at St. Lawrence, 2-1

CANTON, N.Y. – The RIT women's soccer team earned a 2-1 win on the road against St. Lawrence, Saturday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Senior forward Rachel Marriott put the Tigers on the board first with an unassisted goal in the 21st minute of action, her fourth of the season.
  • The Saints leveled the scored in the 28th minute with a goal from Emma Casey.
  • RIT got the game winner just six minutes later when sophomore Emma Pedro scored her first goal of season in 34th minute off a feed from senior midfielder Abby Umbenhaur.
 
GAME NOTES
  • Junior goalkeeper Emily Sanchez played the full 90 minutes, recording five saves to earn the win.
  • With the goal, Marriott now has 11 points (4 goals, 3 assists) this season and third best on the team thus far.
  • St. Lawrence out-shot the Tigers 14 to 12 as both teams put six shots on goal.
